Rare judaica painting depicts prayer in the yeshiva (traditional Jewish educational institution, that focuses on the study of traditional religious texts, primarily the Talmud and Torah study). This rare painting was executed in the early 20th century and monogrammed by the artist with ligated monogram TB. Due to the motive, style and monogram it was attributed to the hand of famous Austrian orientalist and Jewish painter Tony Binder (1868 Vienna - 1944 Nördlingen). Pupil of Academy, he had friendship with French orientalist Camille Boirry and travelled in 1890 to Egypt, settled by Cairo, then in 1894 travelled to Istanbul and to Cairo and Alexandria again . He created a lot of oriental genre and street scenes, also Jewish portraits and genre scenes.after his internment by the British lived in Munich and since 1922 permanently in Dachau.
