Special Postcard Album "KABUKI 歌舞伎" before World War II ◆Album Total Weight: 1.5 kg Number: 194 postcard This is an old Japanese postcard album. It includes many scenes from Kabuki, a traditional Japanese performing art. The item is nearly 100 years old now and is an extremely valuable album. This album was entrusted to me by an old house collector in Japan. All are from before 1945. These do not have a clear date of manufacture. However, there is information that can be used to read the age. It can be seen that the Japanese reading of "郵便はがき," meaning a postcard, is right-to-left. This is the way the Japanese language was read before 1945, unlike modern Japan. Thus, we can see that these postcards are pre-1945. Several of the postcards have the "Year" written on the back. One is marked "昭和三年 Showa 3." This is the year "1928." ◆Old Kabuki Books These are also rare items. They are very old in terms of years of issue. The date of issue is very old: "Meiji 34 (the 34th year of Meiji era). This was in 1901. The colorful prints are very impressive and amazingly wonderful. These books have some damage, but it is possible to open and look at all the pages. There are very old and have some damage but please understand the situation.
