This magazine needs no introduction. In 1985 the physical format of PHOTO changed: the magazine became bigger and got a stapled spine instead of the typical glued one with the number, month and year of the magazine’s publication. Those glued spines were more vulnerable, and therefor show a tiny bit of wear here and there (see photos). In February 1987 the physical format changed back to what it always had been and still is. All magazines are completely intact and a lot of them are in Near Mint state even. Look at the photos to see for yourself. Note 1: when I made the photos for this lot, I noticed that 4 issues of the 1987 volume are special. The magazines (Nr. 239-240, Aug-Nov) are entirely the French magazines like all the others, except that on the front cover the French titles are translated into Dutch, and on the inside the issues start with 4 extra pages with translations of the magazine’s French article introductions. Apparently this was an experiment that failed. From December 1987 on the magazines continue to be French only again. Note 2: While making the photos for Catawiki I noticed how excellent so many of the collected artwork is, how beautifully these magazines were printed, and how little of that beauty comes across here in my photos of PHOTO :-) :-)… Will be packed and shipped with the UTMOST protection. I had been collecting this magazine since the 1980s, and a lot of back issues were bought from the “bouquinistes” (booksellers) on the Rive Gauche (Left Bank) of the Seine in Paris. I collected these volumes with great care, and would like you to enjoy them as much as I did.
