This is the luxe edition of the exhibition catalogue Magritte (galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume, Paris, February 10 -June 9, 2003). The Blue Box is compromised of the following. Box: Beautiful done to look like a book, with a silver stamped, leather-bound spine. In addition, there is a Trompe-l'oiel (under Plexiglass) of La Lunette d'approche (The Field-Glass), 1963. Certificate of Authenticity: Both in English and French, with the edition number written in blue-ink. This edition is 679/1000. Portfolio I: Contains three original etchings on Velin de Rives 250g, numbered, and signed with blind stamp "Sucession Magritte". The three pieces are: Les Amants (The Lovers), 1928 Le Viol (The Rape), 1934 La Trahison des images (The Treachery of Images), 1952 Portfolio II: Contains five-piece full-size reproduction on canvas of L'Evidence éternelle (The Eternally Obvious), 1930, The Menil Collection, Houston. Portfolio III: Contains eight reproductions of the gouaches Bière de porc (The Pig's Beer), 1937 and Confiture de cheval (Horse Preserve), 1937. The reproductions are printed on adhesive paper and are meant to be stuck on to bottles just like the originals were. Book: Hardback edition of Magritte, the catalogue for the Magritte exhibit.
