Huile sur panneau représentant une jument et son poulain au pré signée Richard KISS (1968) Richard Kiss was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1968. Nature has interested Richard since his early childhood. Its beauty and variety have always fascinated and intrigued the young artist. The use and expression of colour was first introduced to Richard, by his artist father Csaba Kiss, and since the age of 17, painting has not only been his love, but also his career. In the early days, Richard began painting on his own, birds of prey, with great passion and fervor. In 1986, Richard took part in an exhibition in Vienna, at the Dorotheum, with a painting of a black kite. The essence of Richard’s paintings derive from nature, the wild life, bunting scenes and bunting dogs. He spends a tremendous amount of time both studying and photographing game animals. Richard studied at the Hungarian Academy of Beaux Arts, and his oil paintings have since been part of a number of exhibitions throughout Hungary and internationally, including Toronto (Canada), Brussels (Belgium), Torino (Italy), Knokke (Belgium), Enschede (Holland) and Luxemburg. Richard was the first person to receive the Pál Csergezán award in 1997, named after the well-known Hungarian animal painter. In 2000 Richard organized an individual exhibition in the Hungarian Agricultural Museum. In 2002 Richard organized a public exhibition with his father in Sopron. Richard’s paintings have been purchased and are privately owned by English, American, Dutch, German and Austrian collectors.
