A very fine, miniature bi-folio of the Qur'an scribed in Iran some 175 years ago. The b-folio is from Chapter 18, Al-Kafh (The Cave), verses 29-40, providing a warning to disbelievers, showing the reward to those who believe, and then telling the parable of the two gardens. ”Surely We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire whose walls will ˹completely˺ surround them. When they cry for aid, they will be aided with water like molten metal, which will burn ˹their˺ faces. What a horrible drink! And what a terrible place to rest!" "As for those that believe....they will have the Gardens of Eternity, with rivers flowing under their feet". The work is impeccable in detail, with gold arabesque decor around the margins of each page and the script enclosed with a rectangular and centred gold margin. The script is in elegant naskh in black ink, with fifteen (15) lines of scripture on each leaf. There are diacritical markings in red throughout, and simple gold aya marking the verses. The right folio leaf contains marginal juz and commentary, marking off sections of the Chapter. This is a most attractive item in very good condition and demonstrates the very skilled work of the Gulf States at this period. Each page image is the same size as described.
