Hans Beers (1946) - Abstract composition (big size)

This vibrant and captivating artwork by Hans Beers, executed in pastel on paper, showcases a mesmerizing interplay of colors and abstract forms that evoke both the natural and built environment. The painting is framed in a minimalist aluminum frame with plexiglass, enhancing its modern appeal. Sweeping curves and bold, dynamic strokes define the composition, drawing the viewer into a lively dance of reds, blues, yellows, and purples that suggest movement and energy. The textured application of the pastels adds depth and a tactile sense to the work, making it a focal point in any space. This piece is not only a feast for the eyes but also an intriguing exploration of form and color, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of contemporary abstract art. Little bit about the artist Hans Beers moved from Zevenbergen near Breda to Antwerp, seeking a house, studio, and gallery. He found them in the quiet Isabella Brantstraat behind the Palace of Justice. "It was clear from the start that I would move to Antwerp," says Beers. "This lawyer district is almost a village. It hasn't changed much over the years. The Anselmostraat and the Lange Lozanastraat are the commercial centers, with silent branches branching out around them, known as 'citizen streets.'" Together with Sonja Mertens Gallery and Huyse Molensloot, Beers showcases art, exhibiting his works or those of colleagues monthly. In various local spots, like the bakery and print shop, he hangs small works related to home exhibitions. "I can't make a living from it, but every now and then, I sell something. Life is good here," he adds. For his gallery's thirtieth anniversary, Beers exhibits recent gouaches and textile works alongside colleagues' pieces. Education and Training: Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts St.-Joost in Breda, completing a 5-year "Monumental Design" course. Obtained a didactic diploma for teaching drawing in Eindhoven. Followed a year of interior architecture at the Academy of Arts in Tilburg and a private course in the restoration of old row paintings in Breda. Activities: Founded a youth workshop in North Brabant, providing drawing, painting, and modeling classes for five years. Also offered occupational therapy to seniors for two years. In 1970, Beers moved to Antwerp, founding the Isabella Brant art gallery initially for other artists, later dedicating it mainly to his own work. From 1993, the gallery resumed exhibitions of other artists. Exhibitions: Beers participated in exhibitions in Breda, Heusden, Etten-Leur, Zevenbergen, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Deurne, Borgerhout, Zichem, Brasschaat, Ghent, and more. Review by Guy van Hoof: Guy van Hoof reflects on Hans Beers' 40-year journey in art, praising his commitment to meaningful, crafted work. Van Hoof notes Beers' courage in addressing social issues in his art, emphasizing a positive attitude. He commends Beers for creating a synthesis of thought in his drawings, gouaches, and tapestries, expressing a cosmic-religious theme and a circular movement of time. Van Hoof appreciates Beers' meticulousness and compassion, recognizing him as a serious and valuable artist. Overall, Hans Beers' work, showcased in various exhibitions, reflects his dedication to meaningful, thought-provoking art with a touch of celebration and inner glow. It will be well packed and protected (!)
