Wine bought to a retired wine distributor of Haro, La Rioja, in 2016. Stored in a private cellar up to today. Exceptional storage conditions. Fully mature and therefore drinking well now, or cellar for the next 20 years years. Vintage 1959 was rated "Excellent" by the oenologists of CVNE winery and it has been unanimously considered as one of the best vintages of the 20th century in Rioja. Vinified in a big wooden vat from the founding time of the winery (1877), without temperature control, for 12 months and then racked to cask. Aged for 7 years and a half. Racked 11 times, once every 6 months in the first years, using the traditional Riojan cask-to-cask method. Hand-bottling directly from the barrel, bottle by bottle, in 1968. Currently, it would be classified "Gran Reserva" by the Regulatory Board of Rioja.
