GlenDronach Cask Strength offers connoisseurs a deep insight into the distinctive character of the distillery, bottling the natural strength of the 58.6% whisky barrel. The tenth version of this expression was matured in barrels by sherry Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso, resulting in a single malt rich in character and full of sherry, with all the depth of the ripening in Spanish oak. Each release of Cask Strength was bottled without cold filtration and high strength, as was customary before the end of the 20th century. As with all The GlenDronach expressions, all natural colour comes from the slow ripening in Spanish oak barrels. Tasting notes. Nose: apricot and chocolate cake with orange, with toasted almond and walnut. Palato: richly spicy fruit cake with walnut peach, cherry and honey raisins. Final: persistent mature apricot stratified with ginger jam and caramelized dates.
