This collection of authentic ship fittings and navigation instruments was brought together by a Dutch private collector who has a passion for nautical collectables. For more than 5 years I have been a Dutch based private collector and a maritime enthusiast with a daily passion for collecting maritime antiques and vintage nautical collectables. I specialize in navigation instruments, including ship’s compasses, marine chronometers and marine clocks, octants, sextants, navigation lamps and also ship’s fittings including portholes, ship’s bells and ship lighting. These functional objects once had practical uses onboard sea vessels. They are highly collectable today as furnishing pieces for homes and nostalgic objects for cafes, restaurants and bars, with some antique historical items finding their way into other private collections or museum collections where they help educate us about our maritime heritage.
