This is a cotton, plate-printed propaganda handkerchief made in Germany or England in, circa 1812. It is labelled 'Stage of Europe', features nine scenes from the life of Napoleon, in which he is variously portrayed as wicked, mean, cowardly and cruel, and is captioned in English and German. In the central scene, 'Victory' seizes Napoleon's sword as he falls and offers it as a trophy to Russia, a reference to Napoleon's disastrous Russian campaign of 1812.

It is framed at the moment. To ship as a handkerchief.

Very rare.
