King Sun is the lamp designed by Gae Aulenti and made by Kartell in 1967. The structure of the lamp has a series of transparent acrylic wedges in a red-orange enamelled metal base. The wedges are arranged in a sphere shape and supported by the central body, in which the light bulb is placed. Thanks to this layout, the wedges hide the light source and refract the light outwards. The name King Sun refers to the idea that is at the base of this lamp: a sun that irradiates light around it.
Lamp in working order, metal in very good condition, excellent colour, acrylic wedges need polishing.
