The Waterloo Museum, 1984, NEAR MINT condition (chess game has some wear at the sides).
This is the deluxe edition of the game of chess The Battle of Waterloo produced in limited edition by Franklin Mint in 1984.
The ordinary game consisted of pewter chess pieces including Napoleon, this limited edition, produced in limited edition of 2000 pieces worldwide, contains 24-carat gold-plated and silver-plated chess pieces.
Given its age, some 34 years old, it is in almost perfect MINT condition.
Very rare to find this set in this relevant condition.
The chess table is the official table of the Standard Edition of The Battle of Waterloo, but can be used perfectly for the Deluxe Edition.
The new price in 1984 amounted to € 1,499.
Chess pieces are unused, thus in perfect mint condition, the Board itself has beautiful shimmering gold leaf inlay but has some signs of wear.
