LUMINARC/CRISTAL D’ARQUES/DURAND Arc International first opened its doors in 1825 under the name of Verrerie Cristallerie d’ Arques. By 1897 the Durand family of France had owned majority share in the company. 1948 saw the launch of Luminarc, shortly followed by Arcoroc in 1958. In 1966 the company developed a subsidiary in the United States for sales of the firms various glass products. Cristal D’Arques was not formed until later in 1968. The company is still solely owned by members of the Durand Family in France. These beautiful sherbets emerge from a base made of waves into a dolphin, into a very large (11 cm!) bowl. They measure 16 cm high. Too much Champagne for you? Desserts that deserve some grandeur would look splendid in them. Pick up is splendid! But shipping is possible.
