RAD (Reich Labour Front) hewer for non-commissioned officers. 1934 model. The total length is approx. 40.0 cm. The RAD hewer has the manufacturer: WKC Solingen on the back of the blade. Weight: 975 g Collector’s piece from a rare manufacturer, not one you are likely to come across again! The grip has two antler grip plates, held together by two screws. The grip is in the shape of an eagle, the beak points towards the cutting edge. The crossguard is flat and has two longitudinal grooves. Blade: the blade is single-edged and slightly curved with a shiny surface, the blade spine is completely blunt. Etched on the front is the RAD motto in Gothic script: ‘Arbeit adelt’, this is deep and jagged, on the back is the manufacturer's logo WKC Solingen. Scabbard: black painted steel scabbard. The lower metal fitting has the symbol of the Reich Labour Service, on the upper scabbard fitting is a bracket for the hanger.
