Rare Franklin Mint Musical CAROUSEL OF LOVE (Horses & Cherubs)
This CAROUSEL OF LOVE, an original artwork by Judith Winslow.
It is 27.5 cm in height and has a 17 cm diameter.
The three horses turn counterclockwise and slide up and down on their poles. It is operated by turning the two cuddling cupids on the button and it plays "Let Me Call You Sweetheart".
It has inspired architectural designs, symbolised royal families, inflamed great passions and was the subject of countless love poems. The link with the rose of love has even suggested that the word ROSE itself is a recast of the name EROS, the Greek god of love whom the Romans called Cupid.
