A rare Vespa 400 micro car from 1958. A real barn find as seen in the pictures with serious work needed. These were really nice cars with a convertible top and suicide doors. Surely the most popular micro car together with the Messerschmitt. This Donald Duck car with serial number 014071 was born in 1958. It was able to reach a top speed of as much as 83 km/h thanks to its air-cooled 2-cylinder 2-stroke engine and its 3-speed gearbox. The restoration was started in the past, but it was never continued due to circumstances. The engine, gearbox, the seats and the headlights have been removed, nothing else has happened and it has been in storage for years. Mostly welding required in the usual places. Part of the bottom plate, wheel edges, the headlight edges and the sills. The doors and engine bay are fine. We have found that the seats, a bumper and the headlights are no longer there. Everything else is there, it’s all in the pictures. There are also some spare parts and small material which are not in the photos. The matching engine and gearbox are in good condition. The engine doesn’t leak, it turns and the 3-speed gearbox shifts excellent. The Vespa does not have a license plate, but the original type plate is still in the engine bay. In summary: A nice winter project ready for fun drives in the spring. It’s a lot of work but very doable. A restored one is unaffordable nowadays. Offered without a reserve so a great opportunity!
