Artist Flemming Brylle (born 26 August 1935) and industrial designer Preben Jacobsen designed this pendant lamp in 1965 when they founded their company Quality System. The company stopped in 1985. In 2003, Flemming Brylle and Preben Jacobsen re-founded the company and produced new designs in retro style. Until a few years ago, they were on the quality system design board, mentoring the young team and providing the steady stream of new designs. The current CEO of the company is Christian Brylle, son of Flemming Brylle. Flemming Brylle still guides the younger designers. Many designers have created lamps for the company, including the famous Morten Gøttler. He designed the Oscar and the Diamond pendant lamp and several other lamps. It was often said that he designed the Strips lamp.
