Ettore Sottsass - Vitra Design Museum - Scaun miniatural - Seggiolina Da Pranzo - Schaal 1:6 - Uit productie

In good condition, a highly exclusive and rare wood-with-metal miniature art object (scale: 1:6), the 'Seggiolina da Pranzo' chair from 1980 for Studio Alchimia, a design by Italian designer Ettore Sottsass (1917–2007). Produced in 1986 by the Vitra Design Museum in Germany, and out of production for a very long time now. The 'Seggiolina da Pranzo', which translates to 'dining chair', includes the wooden storage case and paper info brochure. Very expertly made are the little miniature screws at the handles and at the bottom of this miniature chair. Note: each miniature is made by hand and therefore shows some minuscule imperfections, with also a few minuscule scratches, signs of oxidation, and small stains on the seat. This wooden art object has been in our possession over 15 years, along with a few other special miniature chairs, which will appear in our auction at a later time. Dimensions: Wooden art object: height 14 cm x width 7.7 cm x depth 8 cm Wooden storage case: 15 cm x width 9.5 cm x depth 10 cm. Background information: Ettore Sottsass (1917–2007) was an Italian architect and designer from the late 20th century. He was the founder of the Memphis Group in the early 80s, which had an innovative outlook on design and which challenged the world of mainstream design. The efforts of the group gave rise to products such as the Casablanca and the Carlton cabinets. This last design symbolises the Memphis Group's philosophy. This multicolour bookcase, which features open and oblique parts and a number of drawers, rests on a solid base, further up has the shape of a classic nightstand next to a bed, and subsequently fans out like a tree, culminating in a crown with a cubist design. The whole looks more like a sculpture than a functional item of furniture for storing books. Source: Wikipedia. Remark: - Condition in accordance with age and use, such as the usual signs of wear. - Please take a good look at the photos for a correct impression of the lot on offer and the exact condition of the object. - You are purchasing the object in the condition as indicated in the photos. - If you have any problems after your purchase, please always contact the seller first before posting negative feedback so that the seller can work with you to find a solution.
