Rare copy of this reference book ( limited to 50 copies ) on Nude Photography while Meiji Era ( 1868 - 1912 ) Hoshino's stamp on the colophon last page. ( few erased, but stayed visible) The copy is with the 2 inserts , 2 sheets with photos in violet tones, printed on each sides. ( RARE) It's noted in commentaries " The photos saw the light day when they were published " ( released in 1970 ) The photos came from the Choichi Hoshino's Collection. Very few copies are available ; you have one exemplar in University of, Washington , another in National Diet Library in Tokyo and another in National Library Of Australia in Canberra. This book is a reference for Ethnology study or Photography study. The first photos are more interesting for Ethnology, after a chapter for everyday life of Japanese women and in the last party ( 1900 - 1910 ) more study nudes. There is a photo incrusted on the cover, title page, a silk sheet to protect a free photo . All the photos are numbered ( 1 to 200 ) , printed on yellow ocher color paper ( thick ) I have put a photo for an old auction of the volume ( there is a mistake, as the book is hardback) The cover has been protrected as issued by a plastic protection. There is an Y deep stamped on the back cover Hardback 21 x 15 cm with original plastic jacket, contained in a card slipcase, Yellowed spots on one edge of the pages, the others stayed clear. ( photos) The book stayed very good to excellent for the age , very few opened. The slipcase is a bit worn, one corner slightly damaged ( photo), the face and back few discolored on some parties, the spine more discolored.
