Talbot T26 GS #5 Louis Rosier 23 1/2 Hours Le Mans 1950 - "The Longest Day" By B.Freudenthal - Talbot
In 1950, during the world's greatest endurance race, Louis Rosier accomplished one of the greatest feats in the history of motor sport. Although he was supposed to share the wheel of his Talbot T26 with his son Jean-Louis, he only gave up his seat for half an hour. Louis Rosier drove his car to victory, staying behind the wheel for 23 hours and 30 minutes! A feat that Pierre Levegh almost achieved in his turn, 2 years later, when he drove his Talbot for 22 hours and 40 minutes before being forced to retire. Only Louis Rosier will go down in history.
