With anecdotes on Monte Carlo, comments on luck, a defence of roulette, the games played at Monte Carlo, as well as Maxim's article to 'The New York Herald'.
Written by Sir Hiram Maxim, an inventor known for inventing the first automatic machine gun. He claimed to have invented the lightbulb, and experimented with powered flight.
