Edited by: Akisato Ritō (active c. 1776-1830) Illustrations by: Sakuma Sōen (-1828), Nishimura Chūwa (1758-1835), Oku Bunmei (-1813) Published by: Kawachiya Genshichiro, Osaka First published in 1799 (Kansei 11) The work is in five volumes, but the first volume is divided into two books, Ken and Kon, making it a total of six books. It introduces gardens and tea houses in Kyoto through 142 pictorial illustrations, accompanied by explanatory texts. The names of the woodblock print artists Sakuma Sōen, Nishimura Chūwa, and Oku Bunmei are listed as the illustrators. The book was a bestseller of its time and remains a valuable source for comparing and researching the gardens of Kyoto that still exist today, providing useful information even in modern times.
