It has represented the classic sedan for families for more than fifteen years, but it has also demonstrated a strong and dynamic character with its sporty variants. Unconventional, futuristic and seductive, it also achieved great success in America and, after the end of marketing by Fiat, was continued as an original product by Carrozzeria Bertone. 126. 1972-2000. 80p., more than 130 images -The Fiat 126 was the heir of the unforgettable 500 and took on the difficult role of minimal, compact and economical car. It went through three decades of strong changes with unglamorous but continued success: born in the early 1970s of crisis and protest, it survived the fall of the Berlin Wall and reached the dawn of the new millennium, making not only Italy, but also part of Eastern Europe. The sedan was the most traditional, sober and modern car of the bourgeoisie, but without excess. The Weekend, on the other hand, has definitively liberated the concept of the station wagon for leisure: practical, functional, yet elegant and a bit snobbish, perfect for the most modern families. Croma. 1985-1996.64p., more than 100 color images. The Croma was an unconventional, unusual, intelligent and captivating car and allowed Fiat to play in the international markets during the "unbridled" 1980s. A flagship that was luxurious but not old-fashioned, refined but practical, it was innovative in many ways, from technology to marketing. Fiat Duna. 1987-1991 48p. approximately 70 color images A good project and an illustrious designer are sometimes not enough: the Duna was the most disastrous marketing mistake in Fiat's history, transforming hopes and beliefs into results that were somewhere between unsuccessful and grotesque. Nonetheless, from a historical point of view it is a model to be rediscovered, contextualising it and observing it in a broader international scenario, which goes from Europe to South America. Tipo. 1988-1995. 72p. more than 100 colour images. -The Tipo is the model that definitively brought electronics to mass-produced cars: a concentration of technological modernity combined with an original style, it was a European reference point for what the average car of the 90s should have looked like.
