R33 Skyline GTR 1995 The R33, the 9th generation of the glorious Skyline, made its debut in 1995. Although it was introduced with the "selling point" that it could shorten the time of the R 32 by 20 seconds at the Nürburgring circuit in Germany, it did not gain as much popularity as the R 32 due to its large body size and weight. The 2.61 straight-six DOHC twin-turbo engine was taken over from the R 32 and boosted with a turbo.
