It's becoming more and more challenging to find a "100% functional" Vintage Apple/Macintosh QUADRA 700 ! Furthermore. This specific QUADRA is in "very good" condition. The "Quadra 700" – codename "Shadow" and "Spike" is Apple's first Mac MINTOWER computer – and an absolutely iconic machine. The "Quadra 700" featured in the movie "Jurassic Park (1993, more-than-30years-ago)". In that specific movie the Quadra is one of the computers in the Park's control centre. The Quadra 700 was built for "Graphic Designers" and "Video-makers". It was made for people who wanted a powerful machine – but without the clumsiness and expandability of the Quadra 900. The 700-case was more refined, smaller – and easier to work with. It was the first in a NEW family of Macs [ "Motorola 68040" CPU ] , and was the first Mac to ship in a tower case. The Quadra 700 was also the first Mac with default AAUI-15-ethernet (integrated on the logic board). In the nineties, the Quadra 700 was priced at $6,000. >> The dream of every DESIGNER and the "Maserati under the computers"! Because Apple found out that lots of IIci users were using their machine in the vertical orientation, to reduce the amount of desc space. But you can also use the Quadra 700 in Desktop orientation (horizontal). >> The Quadra 700 still remains the only Macintosh case that could either stand upright in a "tower configuration" – or be placed "horizontally" in the traditional desktop configuration. // ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST & BATTERY ACID – DUST: the inside of a 30-year-old computer looks the same as "the collection-container of a vacuum cleaner" (read: a dust bunny).  First-of-all. Please have realistic expectations when buying a vintage (retro) computer. >> This is NOT a modern machine! Because it seems like lately all I have are newbies "retrocomputing fans" with unrealistic expectations I give you a warning beforehand. ;) Eshethics: – This computer was build in 1992 … so it looks as a (museum) item of the "nineties" (remember: 30 years old!). 
As these are "vintage items", they are being sold as. Normal signs of use and wear. But as an experienced connoisseur I can guarantee that these items are in VERY GOOD condition (always keeping in mind their age). The numerous images are part of the meticulous description. Thus: judge yourself! Be aware: pictures can sometimes give a more positive look-and-feel then reality. Mechanics: All mechanical parts make more noice than you are use to, compared with modern equipment. But this is “normal” behavior. Obviously this is a more-then-30-years old machine. The speed is therefore corresponding.
 In addition, the few QUADRA's that are typically sold have several cracks. This specimen has no single crack in the plastic. That's extremely unique! // A NOTE ON YELLOWED PLASTICS! Some words on the yellowing. Old computer cases are made of ABS plastics which contain at that time "bromine". The element bromine reacts over the time of years with UV light and causes some (not-always-even) "yellowing". The good news however. Because this computer was located in a clean, smoke-free environment of an advertising company (with little UV light), the plastic has remained quite "gray" (compared to peer-Quadra-computers). Last-but-not-least. – there are "normal signs of use" (which are to be expected with a device of this age). PS/ some tiny scratches, discolouration (and other ware-out) are difficult to capture on picture (but they are there … thus: please have realistic expectations!). You also need to be careful with the plastic case (> plastic becomes brittle after more-than-30-years and can break easily). Thus: HANDLE with both love & care.
