Chikuma Shobo/1972/Japanese/64×46.5cm
A collection of works by Kazutaka Narahara, one of the leading postwar Japanese photographers. While his fellow "VIVO" photographers, including Shomei Higashimatsu and Eikoh Hosoe, who created a new wave of postwar photography in Japan, were based in "Japan" and created numerous documentaries and avant-garde photographs, Narahara began to travel abroad energetically in the 1960s, making numerous trips to Europe ("Europe: Still Time" (1967), "Spain: The Great Afternoon" (1969), "The Joy of Living" (1972), "Vanishing Time" (1975)), and the United States ("The Joy of Living" (1975), "The Joy of Living" (1976)). The Joy of Living" (1972) and "Vanishing Time" (1975)) in the United States. This book is similarly created in a foreign country, and contains 10 illustrations selected from those also included in the first book "Europe, Still Time" mentioned above, from the unbound poster-size photo series "Chikuma Photo Gallery" published from 1971 to 1972. This is one of the books in the Chikuma Photo Gallery series. Included are "Paris, France 3," a photograph of a woman walking alone along a tree-lined avenue in white, and "Venice, Italy 2," a shadowy image of a pigeon flying in the open air in Venice, both of which appear on the cover of the photo book "Mirror of Time and Space. (Included in The Japanese Photobook 1912-1990)
