Seljuk Pair of Glazed Pottery Oil Lamps Circa 12th-13th century AD This nice pair features two pottery oil lamps, each presenting a hollow rounded compartment with a circular opening. Each lamp is equipped with a loop handle positioned at the back. Sitting on a flat base, one of the lamps is adorned with a cream glaze complemented by splashes of brown and blue, while the second one is finished with a blue glaze and features two short spouts. The Seljuks, a medieval Turkic dynasty, played a significant role in shaping the history of the Islamic world. Emerging in the 11th century AD, the Seljuks originated from the steppes of Central Asia.
