Nose Sherry, sherry, sherry. Just an absolute sherry bomb nose with a nice layer of sweetness just coming through right away. There's a tiny bit of a citrus note that comes through at the end and I don't have any ethanol coming through like I felt with other cask strength or high ABV scotches. There's a subtle vanilla note, almost like a Breyer's ice cream in the back and there seems to be a ton of berries that's pretty dominant. It also has the brown sugar smell that comes off sugared donuts and I absolutely love the nose on this. Palate - Just like the nose, it's full of sherry flavor and it coats the entire mouth. I taste a lot of raisins, berries, and extra, extra dark chocolate, even that bitter aspect of dark chocolate, perhaps with that being cocoa powder or similar in taste. There's some vanilla still there, alongside a bit of butterscotch and floral honey coming through in the back. When I came in for a second sip, I also tasted some caramel alongside the sherry and butterscotch so I assume the aeration had something to do with that. Finish - It's long and really warms you up. The finish has more of the bitter dark chocolate and oaky character, with a bit of peppery spice.
