Don Papa Gayuma old rum is made from local molasses, fermented then distilled. Aged for 7 years in ex-Bourbon barrels, Don Papa Gayuma then benefits from two successive finishes. The first is 6 months in ex-Rioja wine barrels and the second has an additional 3 months of refining in ex-Islay peated whiskey barrels. Its nose, creamy and powerful, reveals notes of peat, vanilla and orange peel. On the palate, the smoke envelopes the creamy flavors of exotic fruits and vanilla.
