Base in black granite Copy 204/225 Title: “Verso l’assoluto” Born in Cannes in 1949, Jean Pierre Baldini lives and works in a wonderful cottage-atelier in the extraordinary Provençal Arles, which has already inspired some of the greatest artists of this century, e.g. Van Gogh and Cezanne. Baldini is a versatile and original sculptor. He earned success with the public and critics at a very young age, winning the international market through collectors from Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Italy, the United States and Japan. He is currently working for the major French cities. Baldini’s artistic career was initially characterised by wooden artworks, elegantly modelled and polished in their pure shapes. He then moved towards the use of bronze, a material that allowed Baldini to merge the polished volumes of his sculptures with the suggestive tones of patinas in a variety of colours.
