Wooden model of the Simon Bolivar
The Simon Bolivar is a training ship of the 'Barque' type, a sailing ship with at least three masts. It is used by the Venezuelan army and was built at a Spanish shipyard in Bilbao.
Simon Bolivar was a South American freedom fighter. He stood at the cradle of the countries of Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela and Bolivia. The latter country is named after him. Nowadays, he is still known in Latin America as El Libertador, or the Liberator. Hugo Chávez, former president of Venezuela, often referred to Simón Bolívar and called his policy the Bolivian Revolution.
This handmade sailing ship was made of wood. It is finished in great detail and deserves a beautiful place in the house. Take a good look at the detail photos to get a good impression of the ship. This model is in the original box.
