This statuette of striking modernity is inscribed in a much sought after corpus among Antique African small "bronzes".
Related to the Lobi the The Kulango originated in the northeastern part of Cote d'Ivoire near Bouna. Made using the method of lost-wax casting that has been widely practiced on the African continent for centuries.
