Valuable stirrup hunting set, with glasses shaped as heads of various animals.
In excellent condition, marked as Made in Italy on one side and the initials MP on the other (this mark is slightly worn).
Incredible workmanship for such a rare and collectible object. The unique feature of this set is that cups can stand on both of their endings.
This collectible nightcap liqueur glasses set has been created for horseback hunting.
Short history of the “stirrup cup” - A “stirrup” glass is closely related to horseback hunting. Before the hunt the master would muster up the horsemen to have a last drink, when each rider had already one foot on a stirrup. This rite can be repeated during the hunt as a break under explicit request to the master.
