Zenith - Pilot-Calibre 120 - Män - 1950-1959
Rare Zenith watch "Pilot cal. 120", produced between 1953 and 1962. The hacking feature is particular. The watch stops when the crown is pulled into time-setting mode. This allows for greater precision in setting the time; it aimed to allow pilots to calibrate their watches on the plane, hence its nickname. Hand wind movement, 18-jewel, gold-plated with incabloc shock-absorbing protection. Mr Ephrem Jobin was tasked with thinking up this calibre, which benefits from a double-headed regulator lever developed by Charles Fleck, head of manufacturing for the calibre 120.
35.2 mm steel casing without the crown and with numbered back.
Sober beige original dial with a pretty patina, mixed markers, fine hands with central second hand, Zenith logo and inscription. No marks on crystal. Black leather ZRC strap, 19 cm excluding the pin buckle.
Real collector's item. Careful registered shipping with signature. Happy bidding everyone.
