This raspberry red vase in excellent condition, decorated with roses, was designed by Pierre dÁvesn. Pierre d'Avesn was born in 1901 and studied sculpture at the prestigious Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Only 14 years old, he joined the firm of Rene Lalique, from whom he learned the art of glassblowing and glass casting in molds. d'Avesn worked at Lalique for about 12 years and designed some of the most famous Art Deco pieces by Lalique, including the 'Serpent' vase. In 1927 d'Avesn came to Daum as a designer and he supervised the production of the Verreries D'Art Lorrain. After this, between 1937 and 1940, he designed for Verlys, one of France's best glass manufacturers, who produced beautifully opalescent pressed glass. After 1945, he worked for Cristallerie de choisy le Roi up to 1984. Height: 23 cm. The vase will be extremely carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
