It can be picked up or it will be carefully packaged for registered shipping. The book mill originates from (monastery) libraries. They are made in various sizes and versions. The round version of the book mill was the first one. These could be found in large monastery libraries. They functioned like some sort of small merry-go-round. This turned out to be not practical. And so the square version came to be, probably around 1800. It is designed as a free-standing piece of furniture for storing books in a library.
