Greek oil lamp from the archaic period with a wide open tank, comprising a horizontal handle and slightly triangular shape. One of the first oil lamps of the Greek civilization. In Greece, towards the 6th century BC the oil lamp took the form of a shallow circular container with an inward folded edge and a short bridged spout. The edge is wide, surrounding a large filling hole. The tank is flat, the spout lengthened.
