This characteristic cloak is called Kepenek and worn by Turkish herdsmen. The garment's made of felted wool and worn over the shoulders to cover the whole body. The efficient protection against the elements makes it the perfect companion for shepherds. Felt is a multi-talent; it's almost waterproof, warming in the cold and it keeps the heat from the body in the summer. Not only did the herdsman use it as a coat, but also as a blanket or even a tent.
It's an item of ancient traditional clothing known in Eurasia in various forms. Today you'll rarely if at all see someone's wearing it. Modern outdoor jackets replaced it,
100% natural wool and handmade
