This charming screen / room divider with rare folk art was made in the 1950s by a craftsman in a French workplace, studio Marolles. It is a hand-forged iron screen with seven different animals in fifty panels which measure approx. 15 x 15 cm. All animals are constructed out of two pieces of convex steel which were welded together, and are not just a silhouette carved from a metal plate.
The weight of the screen is between 40 and 80 kg.
Studio Marolles was founded by Jean Touret, and a group of talented craftsmen worked there in the 1950s–1960s. Works from this studio have a superior quality, they are rare and highly sought-after.
The measurements of this screen are: H 170 cm x W 78 cm x D 34 cm
