This is a metal (tin) train set! According to the supplied manual, the BillerBahn was produced in the US Zone in Germany/Germany. The trains contain a spring that is wound up by a key (both loose as in the building). The catalogue was produced between 19543-1956. Set consists of two locomotives, one closed and an open passenger carriage plus four other cars (a high open bin, a low open bin, a shell oil/petrol car, tipping tray. Included are 26 pieces of straight track and 21 pieces curved track and a turning set plus workshop building and one loose key. Freight locomotive can be wound up. Other locomotive contains spring but it is not entirely clear how this locomotive should be wound up. Probably with special key in chimney but this one is missing.
