It has six vertical tracks, with numeral "1:9" running alongside. The tracks contain a set of red or black aluminium pieces. Those can be adjusted up and down using a stylus. Above the tracks are seven small windows displaying the numerals which are used in the mathematic equations. The top of the device has a wire bar, that resets all the panels to zero, while the right-hand side features two small plastic clips, usually used to house the stylus pen. Addition, subtraction and multiplication symbols are printed at the bottom along with the text "ADD," "SUBTRACT," "MULTIPLY."
