Marcel Breuer - Knoll - Solstol - Clubsessel "B3", Eisengarn blau!

Rare club chair "B3" by Marcel Breuer with blue iron thread. Special edition by the Knoll company from 1996. Marcel Breuer (1902-1981) was a German-American architect with Austrian-Hungarian origin. He taught and educated at the Bauhaus in Dessau. Breuer is considered the inventor of the modern steel tube. At that time, the "B3" club armchair was revolutionary in its use of materials such as bent tubular steel and iron yarn material, as well as in its production method. The bent steel tubes were manufactured by the Junkers aircraft plants in Dessau using a processing technology that was new at the time. The chair was created as a show piece for new living, and was part of the Bauhaus furniture at the Dessau building, which opened in 1926. Its common name "Wassily" is inspired by the Bauhaus master, Wassily Kandinsky. Special edition by the Knoll company from 1996. The edition was limited to 300 copies. The armchair was made with nickel-plated tubular steel and iron thread - just like the original from the 20s. Excellent condition, with very few signs of wear.
