The Sinclair C5 is an electric recumbent bike from 1985. It was developed by Sir Clive Sinclair. It has a computer system, an aerodynamic body and an understeer. It was shown to the press in November 1984 and was for sale to the general public in early January 1985. The English press completely dismissed the project. This had to do with the fact that England has hardly any cycle paths. It was hardly visible because it’s only 80 cm in height. A total of 17,000 units were manufactured. The one being auctioned here has the option of 2 batteries. This Sinclair has always worked very well but it’s been in storage for a long time. It was stored on a wooden frame with wheels. The tyres didn’t suffer. It’s ready to go as a bike. All parts, including the batteries, can still be purchased through English or Dutch clubs. Please see the included parts, tools and manual.
