This very rare Art Deco bowl was made around 1930 by Verrerie Schmid (SV), Vannes-le-Chatel, France, founded in 1765, and is characterised by fluted vertical formations and sun-like rays. The SV mark is on the inside of the bowl (see photo no. 9). With regards to the history of the glass factory ‘SV’ Verrerie Schmid, Vannes-le-Chétel, the initials ‘SV’ represent the glassworks in Vannesle-Chatel, Départment Meurthe-et-Moselle (France). This has belonged to the Schmid glass maker family for two centuries. ‘SV’ stands for ‘Schmid Verreries’. Founded in 1765. On the inside of the bottom you’ll find the mark "FAIT EN BELGiQUE" All information provided to the best of my knowledge and belief.
