An exceptionally beautiful antique silver lamb bone/ drumstick holder, so-called "manche a gigot" made in France, ca. 1870-1890. A superb piece with a refined and elegant shape. The handle is made of finely crafted silver on a wooden core with a refined decoration of acanthus leaves in relief. They are enclosing a fine guilloche and engraved decoration with a blank cartouche (can be engraved or monogrammed).
Hallmarked on the handle with the French Minerva head (min. 800 fineness).
21,5 cm long, 7 cm wide
148 gram
Overall very good condition with wear consistent with age. it would look great in any collection of antique silver or on any festive dinner table.
