Carlo Carrá (after) - "Sifone di Seltz, 1914" - (70x90cm)

- Authorized offset lithograph on heavyweight smooth satin paper (300gsm approx). - Size: 70 x 90 cm. - Stamp on verso. - Condition: excellent. Never framed, never exposed. - Carlo Carrà (1881-1966) was one of the most influential Italian painters of the first half of the 20th century. He is best known for his still lifes in the style of Metaphysical painting. Carrà studied painting briefly at the Brera Academy in Milan, but he was largely self-taught. In 1909, he met the poet Filippo Marinetti and the artist Umberto Boccioni, who converted him to Futurism. His most famous painting, The Funeral of the Anarchist Galli (1911), embodies Futurist ideals with its portrayal of dynamic action, power, and violence. With the advent of World War I, the classic phase of Futurism ended. Although Carrà’s work from this period was based on Futurist concepts, he soon began to paint in a style of greatly simplified realism. His new style was crystallized in 1917 when he met the painter Giorgio de Chirico, who taught him to paint everyday objects imbued with a sense of eeriness. Carrà and de Chirico called their style pittura metafisica (“Metaphysical painting”). In terms of the valuation of his works, Carlo Carrà’s artwork prices can vary depending on the medium, time period, and other attributes. On average, the price for his works can range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars. For instance, his work “Marina con palo, 1951” is priced between €75,000–€95,000, while “Senza titolo, 1911” is priced between €30,000–€35,000. However, some of his works have been auctioned for prices as high as 5,064,211 USD. Artists of similar importance: Basquiat, Picasso, Hockney, Lichtenstein, Miro, Banksy, Kandinsky, Delaunay, Nara, Soulages, Lagasse, Ramos, Warhol, Lautrec, Klimt, Matisse, Hirst, Chagall, Koons, Haring, Indiana, Mondrian, Groening, Richter, Monroe, Kusama, Murakami, Testa, Villemot, Oldenburg, Hopper, Ripolles, Wesselmann, Magritte, Jenk, Orlinski, Wille, Rizzi, Manara, Thiebaud, Herrera, Laurent, Klein, Coa, Dior, Vuitton, Kaws, Valentino, Cappiello, Rothko, Dalí, among others.
