(Charles Tilt, who is apparently the publisher and author, narrates the voyage taken by the British couple Mr. & Mrs. Dalton with their children Emily & Charles. No actual date for the trip is given in this work but it's likely that it took place in 1846). Illustrated with 7 very fine engraved plates including frontispiece, all as called for. Published by David Bogue, Late Tilt and Bogue, London, 1847. Publishers’ original half leather brown spine with marbled boards. Spine in five compartments with raised bands, gilt lettering pieces within black label to compartment two. Marbled endpaper pages and all page edges. Book Dimensions: 17 x 11 cm and Number of Pages: 443 Condition Firm and well-bound copy. Light wear to boards’ corners, and edges, with minor rubbing to head and foot of spine. Internally; in very good condition. No names or inscriptions. Inner hinges are very good and pages are tightly held at gutters. Pages are clean, with occasional spotting marks on few pages.
