Polish Navy whistle with the "Orzel" symbol.
The whistle is worn and shows traces of time. It is complete, fully functional and sounds truly military.
Designed and used in the Navy.
ORP Orzeł - Polish torpedo submarine, the first Orzeł-class unit, launched on January 15, 1938 at the Dutch shipyard De Schelde in Vlissingen.
On February 2, 1939, the ship was officially incorporated into the Navy. As part of the Submarine Squadron, "Orzeł" took part in the initial period of coastal defense. Interned in the capital of Estonia, he managed to escape. Deprived of maps, he continued his patrol in the Baltic Sea until October 7, and then sailed through the Sound to Great Britain.
Operating from the British Isles, on April 8, 1940, during a patrol in the North Sea, he sank the German freighter "Rio de Janeiro", carrying German troops as part of Operation Weserübung - the information provided by "Orzel" was one of the first signals of the German invasion of Norway.
For reasons still unexplained, ORP "Orzeł" and its entire crew disappeared during a patrol in the North Sea at the turn of May and June 1940.
And a belt buckle of the Polish Navy
