Gorgeous, medium-size two-panel byôbu 屏風 (folding screen) featuring a refined painting on shiny gold leaf depicting a young beautiful courtesan 美人 (bijin) as she delicately parts a string curtain to approach a small white-spotted black dog. She is dressed in an opulent orange kimono adorned with a blue wisteria 藤 (fuji) motif. Clasped in the front fold of her garment, she gently holds a cup with a spoon. Her hair is styled in an elegant updo, complementing her noble, radiant white complexion and refined features.
Framing the panels are two brocade silk borders - a thin green one and a broad blue-gold one. Protected by a dark brown wooden frame.
Period: Japan – Late Meiji period/Taishô period (First quarter 20th century).

It is in a very good original condition with minimal traces of wear conform age. Please have a look at the photos for a clear condition reference.
